* Can anybody tell me what earthly purpose is served by pill bugs? You know,
* those itty-bitty armadillo-like creatures which, when disturbed, roll
themselves
* up into little balls.
Well... My favorite use for them when I was a kid was... If you really
wanted to gross-out some girl, you simply popped a pill bug into your
mouth. As long as you kept it moving, it stayed rolled up in a little
ball. Of course if you stopped it moving it opened up and you felt all
those little legs kicking in your mouth... Really awful!
That seems like a perfectly good reason for existence to me!
e.
one of my favorite things to do is to keep them as pets. they are highly intelligent bugs. but aside from that they are little fmore than garden pests

What makes them pests? Don't they eat decaying matter, enriching the
soil? The seem mostly inoffensive.
